Tristan and Meredith’s wedding at Château le Petit Verdus was something out of a magazine – every detail was truly perfect and spoke to their tastes. Timeless elements combined with a fun party feel made this wedding an example for why couples opt to get married in France.
Meredith and Tristan are from Texas and found that they knew they were “the one” for each other when everything felt natural. The calm and ease you feel from them when they’re together is a sign that they’re meant to be.
Tristan and Meredith are travel lovers and huge foodies, so a French wedding simply made sense for them. They even got some French-themed photos taken while in France, leading up to their celebration!
Meredith has an eye for design and told us early on in the process how important it was to her that her favorite details come to life. We were able to connect them with the right vendors to bring together florals, catering, bartending, and table design. The stunning light contrast of château Le Petit Verdus against their bright green lawn added to the classic but modern feel of Meredith and Tristan’s wedding.
Having a planner to support you through the planning process in France is essential to getting your vision to come to life. We’re able to advocate for you with our local vendors and can help ensure that each detail is aligned with both your vision and what’s possible here in Bordeaux.
Along with the pre-wedding and day-of details, if design is important, remember to prioritize your photographer. Meredith and Tristan chose Sarah Lord as their photographer, and she was an excellent decision for the vibe they were going for – their photos turned out timeless and the flash photography near the end of the evening added a modern fun element!
Meredith and Tristan’s vision came together spectacularly, and each detail fit so well in their French wedding. From Meredith’s Jimmy Choos and blue floral mementos to white florals, fun cocktails, and crystal glasses, each detail was well thought out.
Their ceremony was an intimate experience with about 30 guests, which is perfect for a château. One element that really stood out about Meredith and Tristan’s wedding was doing a ceremony to a reception flip. While this is common in the United States, it’s very rare to flip a space from a ceremony to a reception design in the same wedding.
Meredith and Tristan wanted to use the doorway with stairs of the chateau for the ceremony area so that the florals could run up the side of the building, and it’s also the best place to have a dinner layout, so a ceremony to reception flip made the most sense. The beautiful facade, colorful hydrangeas, and the space being in the shade makes the location a stunning area for dinner photos. We are so happy with how it turned out!
Another element that was lovely was their cocktail hour. Accompanied by a floral-decked bar, lounge furniture, and elegant umbrellas, their guests enjoyed champagne and conversation on château Le Petit Verdus’ stunning lawn. Hors d’oeuvres were passed around including tuna tataki with wasabi sauce – this was such a fun and colorful touch to the experience!
Their dinner included wine aflowing, conversation, and romantic candlelight. As the day drew closer, we weren’t sure if we’d have to use a rain back-up plan. Luckily, the sun pulled through and gave this sweet couple a stunning day!
The work of Fabulous Things on Meredith and Tristan’s florals and rentals was exceptional. Everything came together so beautifully, exactly to the couple’s vision!
