The Story Behind Our Rebrand
We are so excited to announce our rebrand from Pure Expression Events to Pétillante Weddings! Pétillante Weddings is still your go-to wedding planner in France – we specialize in planning beautiful chateau weddings in France.
We started our rebrand in summer 2022 and chose to work with Emily Foster Creative to design custom branding and a custom Showit website.

Why did we rebrand?
This rebrand came with a couple intentions in mind:
- When I first began Pure Expression Events, it was just me (Nicole Tournois). Our goal over the next 1-2 years is to expand to working with a team, which means that I’ll have more than myself as a planner on staff. Our couples will still experience the same quality that they would normally receive from working with only myself, but we’ll be able to help even more couples to have a stress-free wedding experience in France. So, a refined brand felt essential.
- As our business grows, we want a name and brand that feels authentic to the experience that each of our clients receives when they work with us. The definition of Pétillante in French is “sparkling” and “lively”. It can also be used to describe a slightly bubbly white wine. Hence, Pétillante Weddings was born to represent our lively nature and the duality of elegance and fun that goes into a wedding in France.
The story behind the brand:
When we started the process with Emily from Emily Foster Creative, we first talked through our brand strategy and had not officially decided on our new brand name. In the past, our business has been under my name – Nicole Tournois, and we were previously Pure Expression Events. After consulting with Emily (and several trusted business colleagues!), we agreed that “Pétillante Weddings” was the perfect combination of French and American culture. You’ll notice that throughout the brand, we find ways to intertwine both cultures, since many of our clients are from English-speaking countries, Nicole is from the United States, and we’re a wedding planning business in, well, France!
Emily helped us choose colors and fonts that represent the mix of elegance, professionalism, creativity, and fun that we bring to each of our weddings. It was so fun to walk through the process of seeing a mood board and see it come to life as our full custom brand!
Our custom logo design:
All of our logo designs and assets were custom-designed for our business. You may notice that the “P” at the beginning of our logo “pours” in to a glass that makes up the “E”. This was an intentional detail to represent the “bubbly” of Pétillante Weddings without coming across as in-your-face weddings.

Just as when we called ourselves Pure Expression Events, we work with couples who want to have FUN while they have the once-in-a-lifetime experience of getting married in France. We support you to plan a wedding that is not only beautiful, but an opportunity to dance the night away through a weekend event at a French chateau. As Pétillante Weddings continues to grow, it is our mission to help you experience the joy, fun, and party that French weddings have to offer.
What areas of France do we serve?
Most of our weddings are in the Bordeaux area, which is the perfect area to find large French chateaus, quality wines, and yummy local cuisine. We have worked with many vendors so always have quality, trustworthy florists, photographers, venues, caterers, and other businesses to recommend!
